AirTran posted a net income of $28.7 billion, which compares significantly better to their $35.36 billion dollar loss a year ago. The reasoning behind this can be attributed to the lower costs, fuel prices and the service quality on the fleet. This is the best first quarter numbers they have ever posted, a shock in the current economy. Maybe there is hope for companies still after all.
