Boeing has set the bar for the 787 release when it began factory gauntlet tests on Monday. These test will evaluate all the systems of the aircraft in a flight like environment. The tests are occurring in ten hour blocks to test all 92 main systems are functioning properly. The next few steps involve fueling up the plane and then another test involving taxiing. Boeing's guarantee that the first flight will occur by the end of the second quarter, but that is all they have stated definite.
