Examiner Features Magellan Jets As A Leader in Cuba Travel

Traveling to Cuba is not like any normal trip. As Magellan Jets knows, far more criteria is required to enter into Cuba than most countries. Examiner.com travel expert Hank Tester recently caught up with Magellan Jets President and co-owner Anthony Tivnan to hear more about what it takes to travel to Cuba.

So what if your company hears of a business opportunity in Cuba? You need to get your legal counsel, your bean counter, your investors, into Havana fast. Chances of doing business in Cuba quickly are proving to be a challenge but if a call from the Cuban government comes and the Cubans are interested in your product or proposal a quick Havana trip just might be necessary.
How to do it fast? Charter a jet. It is not cheap, but it can be fast and efficient which can be critical when getting permission to fly into Cuba is still a bit of an adventure.
There are a hand full of air charter services that can get you there. Only certified aircraft, identified by their tail numbers, can land at the Island’s three international airports. “Service to Cuba is far more intricate than other destinations,” says Anthony Tivnan, President and co-owner of Magellan Jets, which bills itself as “the leader in domestic and international private jet travel offering clients private charter flights and private jet memberships on the safest aircraft in the world…” Tivnan says Magellan’s entry into the Cuba service came “due to demand.” Their first business clients were flown into Havana in June of 2015 and have sent 13 flights to the Island Nation since then. The company’s flight support arranges the aircraft, ground transportation, accommodations and organizes the all important paper work that allows Americans to travel in and out of Cuba. Here are some questions about Cuba travel that Examiner.Com asked Anthony Tivnan:
Do you have to be a member of the Magellan program to charter a plane to Cuba? “Though being part of the Magellan Jets membership program guarantees aircraft availability and pricing, we certainly offer charter flights to Cuba.”
What would be the ballpark cost to charter a jet for six passengers from New York to Havana? “The cost would be approximately $25,000 each way, though the exact total is dependent on a multitude of variables.”
What would be the cost of chartering a jet for six passengers from Miami to Havana? “Approximately $10,000 each way.”
Can a business organization that realizes they have an opportunity in Cuba and need to fly a group fairly quickly to Havana to meet government officials come right to you folks and get it on without any previous history with Magellan? “Absolutely, we welcome new clients. As long as the proper paperwork. which we provide, is filled out by the customer, we submit it to our operator and everyone is all set to travel.”
Tivnan says “there is a huge buzz right now with Cuba travel.” With scheduled commercial flights between the two countries still not approved by the Cuban Government and charter flights that are often filled to capacity and possibly inconvenient for business travelers a jet charter is certainly an alternative for a time critical business opening.
