2022 U.S. OPEN PRIVATE JET TRAVEL: WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW
WHEN DOES THE 2022 U.S. OPEN TAKE PLACE?
The 2022 U.S. Open is returning to The Country Club in Brookline, Massachusetts from Thursday, June 16 to Sunday, June 19. The tournament will be played Thursday through Sunday, while Monday, June 13 through Wednesday, June 15 are practice round days. For golf fans who want to experience a more relaxed atmosphere, take pictures, and meet the players, heading to the Open on these days may be preferable—unlike on tournament days, cameras and autographs are permitted, and players are generally more likely to interact with the fans.
Gates will be open from 6 a.m. to 7 p.m. on practice round days. During the Championship Rounds on Thursday and Friday, gates will open at 6 a.m., while gates will open at 7 a.m. on Saturday and Sunday. On Championship Round days, gates will close following the conclusion of play, whenever that may be. A full USGA fan guide, with information on prohibited items, safety, etiquette, and more can be found here.
THE COUNTRY CLUB IN BROOKLINE, MASS.
This year marks the third time The Country Club has hosted the U.S. Open and the first time it has done so in 34 years. The previous Country Club-hosted Championships, held in 1913, 1963, and 1988, all ended in playoffs. For a full history of the U.S. Open dating back to the inaugural championship played in 1895, view the USGA’s interactive timeline.
One of the five founding clubs of the USGA, The Country Club this year features a course routing not used in any previous championships, including the return of a tricky green; following a restoration by architect Gil Hanse, the short-but-strategic 11th hole will be used in the Open for the first time since 1913. For more details on the course and a map of the U.S. Open routing, click here.
