After reopening to tourists on July 1, the Bahamas will implement a travel ban beginning on July 22, significantly limiting transportation to the getaway. As the measures take effect, many people are wondering, “Can I still travel to the Bahamas?” Here are five things you need to know about flying to the Bahamas under the new guidelines.
Can I Still Travel to the Bahamas?
1. Bahamas Travel Ban: Can I Fly Commercial?
Initially, the new travel ban barred all international commercial flights to the Bahamas, with exemptions made for visitors from the United Kingdom, European Union and Canada, provided that they’ve tested negative for COVID-19. In addition to commercial flights, sea vessels that carry commercial passengers would also be prohibited from visiting the Bahamas. However, the country recently updated its advisory again, this time allowing commercial travelers, as long as they quarantine for 14 days and take a COVID-19 test.
2. Can I Fly Privately?
Despite the commercial travel ban, the Bahamas will still allow international private jet flights. That means visitors can book a private jet charter to the Caribbean destination, as long as they meet certain guidelines.
Specifically, all guests must receive a negative COVID-19 test before they complete the online Bahamian Travel Health Visa form. Upon arrival, each guest must have their negative COVID-19 test results and a copy of their visa in-hand, along with their passport. Additionally, Magellan Jets requires guests to complete a health declaration form. If you need help organizing your next trip to the island escape, Magellan Jets’ Private Aviation Consultants are happy to guide you through the booking process and all the testing requirements.
3. POPULAR Bahamas PRIVATE JET ROUTES
Since the travel ban still permits private jet flights, there are several popular routes you can take to the Bahamas. Here are a few of the top places Magellan Jets clients fly to the destination from, as well as information on recommended aircraft, flight time estimates and more.

These can include jet skis, inflatable slides and even glass bottomed kayaks, offering a peak at life under the sea.
