The Challenger 605, which began production in 2006, boasts many of the same features that made its predecessor, the Challenger 604, successful—while adding a number of improvements in style, comfort, and technology as well as cost efficiency. Bombardier utilized technical feedback from customer, flight attendant, pilot, and maintenance personnel focus groups in redesigning the interior of the 605, building on the flight experience of the 604 with new innovations in technology and luxury.

Interior
The Challenger 605 retains the roomy interior of the previous entries in the Challenger 600 line, and is designed to provide all the amenities needed for a comfortable journey. The cabin measures 6 feet high, over 7 feet wide, and 28.3 feet long, with a total volume of 1,146 cubic feet—more than enough room for passengers to move about and stretch their legs on the long, international flights the 605 is capable of handling. With 115 cubic feet of internal storage, they’ll also be able to conveniently access their luggage in flight.
Bombardier solicited customer feedback in their cabin redesign of the 605, and also incorporated lessons learned from the development of their large-cabin Global 5000. The interior has been fitted with additional LED lighting, as well as larger, higher-positioned windows. It also boasts an improved galley, more ergonomic lavatory, Ethernet-based management system, larger video monitors, and sturdier work tables, so those aboard can stay productive or entertained on extended trips.
Performance
Another feature retained from the 604 is the super-critical wing design, which allows for increased speed and stability during flight. The 605 features a 5,015-lb. payload, an increase of 200 lbs. over its predecessor. Bombardier also repositioned the jet’s fuel tanks, added an aft bladder tank, and upgraded the tailcone tank, aiding with weight distribution and fuel consumption.
