Cessna Citation Latitude

Since receiving its FAA type certification in 2015, the Cessna Citation Latitude has been a popular option among the mid jet category, offering larger cabin space than the Cessna Citation XLS+ and lower operating costs than the Cessna Citation Sovereign. According to Business Jet Insider, the Citation Latitude was Cessna’s attempt to compete with competition from Bombardier and Embraer in the mid-size field. The effort paid off—with its spaciousness and economy, the Latitude became the best-selling mid-size business jet on the market and an icon of the private aviation world.

Citation Latitude FEATURES

The Citation Latitude’s eight-passenger cabin has a flat floor and marked Cessna’s widest and tallest yet upon introduction. It measures 27 feet 6 inches long, 6 feet 5 inches wide, and 6 feet high for a total cabin volume of 587 cubic feet. The aircraft features 127 cubic feet of baggage space—100 cubic feet in the aft compartment and 27 cubic feet throughout the cabin.

The jet is equipped with re-designed swivel chairs arranged in a club-four configuration of single seats, two single seats to its aft, and a forward, two-seat, side-facing couch that can recline at the passenger’s ease. The cabin design makes use of both natural and LED lighting to make the jet feel even more open and inviting. Additional amenities include a large lavatory with a sink and a belted flushing toilet (Textron claims it is 60 percent larger than those on comparable aircraft), a refreshment center, and an additional closet located next to the lavatory.

The Citation Latitude is equipped with twin Pratt & Whitney Canada PW306D1 turbofan engines which enable the aircraft to reach speeds of up to 446 ktas and produce 5,907 pounds of thrust per engine. The Citation Latitude provides an average range of 2,700 nautical miles when traveling with 4 passengers—capable of traveling from New York to Vancouver or from Moscow to Dubai.  It can climb to 43,000 feet in just 23 minutes.

In the cockpit, the Citation Latitude utilizes the Garmin G5000 avionics system. The system includes three 14-inch landscape flight displays, a Synthetic Vision Technology (SVT) system, touch-screen control panels, flight management systems (FMS), and transponders with ADS-B Out capabilitywhich provide everything the pilots need for efficient, comfortable, and stress-free flight performance.
