This year, Magellan Jets was one out of the many industry leaders who participated at the MBAA 2nd Annual Aviation Day at the new Rectrix FBO facility at Laurence G. Hanscom Field in Bedford, Mass.
Many jets were on display at the exclusive event, and the Magellan Jets team was able to speak with the pilots and manufacturers of each aircraft to learn more about their special features and new technological advancements.
From the Gulfstream G550 to the Embraer Phenom 300, Magellan Jets got an inside look at what makes each aircraft unique, and for some of us at Magellan Jets, some where more unique than others…

You don’t always have to receive a green jacket to be a Masters Tournament champion…
With one of the most anticipated annual golf events coming up, Magellan Jets has teamed up with In The Know Experiences to create a VIP Masters Package for fans to experience the excitement and luxury of flying to and from the Masters 2015 tournament at Augusta National Golf Club in Augusta, Georgia this year… like a real PGA champion. Why witness the world’s best golfers through a television screen when you could be greenside at the most exclusive golf event in the world?
Augusta Regional Airport reported 2,034 private jets landed and took off during last year’s Masters Tournament in August, GA. This year they estimate that number will increase close to 3,000 private planes. Due to parking problems the last two years, the airport has decided to implement new procedures to help alleviate the parking issue. Pilots no longer have to reserve parking places, they’ll be issued on a first-come first-served basis. In 2013 and 2014, the airport required prior reservations but ran into issues with customers parking their planes longer than their reserved time. This caused a buildup when other aircraft arrived for their still-occupied spot.

The rumors had been swirling for years: Bell Helicopter was working on something big. Insiders called it “Project X” or “Magellan.” Some people thought it was a replacement for the 412, the civil descendant of the infamous Huey that became a legend during the Vietnam War.
On February 1st, the most anticipated event of the year will hit Arizona at full force. The Super Bowl is always the busiest weekend for private aviation travel. This year’s venue in Glendale, Arizona and airports in the region have spent months preparing for the big show. In 2008, Phoenix played host to the Super Bowl, giving authorities an idea on what to expect for traffic.
