As more and more travelers get their COVID-19 vaccinations, the conversation around travel has grown to include so-called “vaccine passports,” documents showing proof that a traveler has received their vaccine. These documents are being considered as a means of promoting safety by various authorities, from colleges to cruise lines to the state of Hawaii.
Magellan Jets Chief Operating Officer Todd Weeber recently spoke with Luxury Daily about the state of vaccine passports and travel restrictions, as well as Magellan’s commitment to monitoring the changing landscape of rules and requirements for travelers across the globe in the post-COVID era.

LUXURY DAILY: MAGELLAN Jet STAYS INFORMED OF TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS ON BEHALF OF CLIENTS
Magellan Jets’ Flight Support and Guest Services teams constantly monitor travel restrictions for destinations around the world on behalf of jet card owners, pay-as-you-go members and on-demand charter clients. With states and countries implementing new health and safety measures every day, Magellan teams work tirelessly to make sure clients are informed about any travel restrictions and ready to meet any necessary requirements.
“Presently, the United States as well as the world is blanketed with a patchwork of varying requirements with respect to test requirements and vaccinations, depending on the views of the local authorities,” Weeber told Luxury Daily. “It is our role to remain continuously informed of all such requirements so that our clients don’t have to worry about them.”
Luxury Daily notes that Israel, the United Kingdom, and the European Union have proposed using vaccine passports. Weeber notes the United States has so far been resistant to the idea of vaccine passports on a national level, but that Magellan Jets will continue to monitor the fluid situation as different states and countries employ their own rules. Here’s an excerpt from the article:
However, the U.S. federal government has been hesitant about issuing national guidelines regarding vaccine passports, leaving states and private companies to develop their own plans.
“The implementation of vaccine passports’ is in the early stages globally and meeting stiff resistance on the federal and state level here in the United States,” Mr. Weeber said. “Regardless of the status of the various tools to help contain the pandemic, Magellan Jets has been and will always be well-equipped to ensure a stress-free customer experience for all of our Jet Card owners, members, clients and guests.”
