Your exploration of Easter Island begins with a visit to Rano Raraku, the quarry where many of the island’s moai were carved and left unfinished centuries ago. After lunch, you’ll continue discovering Rapa Nui heritage with stops such as Ahu Tongariki, home to the famed line of fifteen moai facing the sea. Later, you may return to the resort for a relaxing dinner and perhaps take in a cultural performance that highlights local music and dance.

Today offers a blend of activity and leisure. You may start with a hike to the breathtaking crater of Rano Kau or opt for kayaking or snorkeling along the coast. By afternoon, you can unwind with the resort’s amenities, perhaps a massage, a swim, or simply time spent taking in the ocean view. As evening approaches, you’ll visit Ahu Tahai, a favorite viewpoint for watching the moai glow under a brilliant sunset before ending the day with dinner and stargazing.

After a final slow breakfast on Easter Island and possibly a short walk or last-minute shopping, you’ll take a direct flight to Santiago. Upon arrival, you’ll check into The Ritz-Carlton and have time to relax before heading out to explore at your leisure.

Your day begins with a ride on the old funicular train, which glides up 2,500 feet into the sky to the highest point in the city, st. Christopher’s hill. From there, you’re rewarded with sweeping views of Santiago and the beautiful sanctuary of the virgin of immaculate conception, a national icon in Chile. Spend your afternoon exploring the arts center of Parque Forest checking out the Museum of Contemporary Art and the Museum of Visual Arts. 

You’ll take a flight north to Calama, where you’ll be met for a scenic transfer into the Atacama Desert. Once you arrive at Nayara Atacama, you’ll have time to settle in and explore the property before taking the lodge’s bicycles into the charming town of San Pedro de Atacama. Dinner at the lodge caps off your first evening in the desert.

Your day begins before sunrise with a magical visit to the Atacama salt flats and flamingo-filled lagoons. After returning to the lodge for lunch and some relaxation by the pool or spa, your afternoon takes you to the surreal landscapes of the Moon Valley, where desert dunes and mineral formations glow at sunset. The evening finishes with stargazing through the lodge’s observatory telescope under some of the clearest skies on Earth.

You’ll rise early again to witness the dramatic steam plumes of the El Tatio Geysers, set high in the Andes. After returning to San Pedro for brunch and rest, your afternoon may include sandboarding in Death Valley or a 4×4 exploration of remote desert terrain. In the evening, you may choose to replace an excursion with a rejuvenating massage at the lodge’s spa.

Your morning features a cultural or geological excursion—perhaps visiting ancient petroglyphs, the artisan village of Toconao, or the crystalline lagoons known as the “Eyes of the Atacama.” After lunch at the lodge, you can enjoy a relaxing bike ride, a soak in natural hot springs, or a final leisurely afternoon in the desert sun. Your last evening in Atacama invites another unforgettable night of stargazing.

After breakfast, you’ll check out and transfer to the Calama airport for your flight back to Santiago and onward home.
