JOB REQUIREMENTS:
-3+ years of experience as a Content Writer, Copywriter, Technical SEO Writer, or similar role
-BS in Marketing, English, Journalism or related field, web development background a plus
-Portfolio of published articles
-Excellent writing and editing skills in English
-Hands-on experience with Content Management Systems (e.g. WordPress)
-Ability to meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
-Creative and strategic thinker and problem solver
-Great interpersonal skills and ability to communicate with all levels of management
-Proficient computer skills, including Microsoft Office Suite (Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Excel)
-Strict adherence to the brand style guide

POSITION OVERVIEW:
As a Content Writer at Magellan Jets, you will play an essential role on the marketing team and help us enhance our website, advertising campaigns and overall content messaging. With our client personas in focus, you will write a wide variety of topics for multiple platforms (website, blogs, articles, social media, banners, case studies, guides, white papers, ads, sales collateral, etc.) You will conduct thorough research on industry-related topics and collaborate with other departments and customers to generate ideas for new content types. This role assumes an understanding of the technical side of SEO and best practices – maintaining a keyword portfolio of highly competitive keywords, appropriate placement and formatting of keywords in the copy and within the code to be easily picked up by search engines, maintaining the keyword density, keywords in titles, etc. The technical side of SEO means you understand the role that navigation and site architecture play in enhancing crawlability. As the Content/SEO Writer, you will continuously research new keywords and collect feedback to help you write the copy to increase our organic website traffic.
This role reports to the Sr Director of Marketing and is based out of our Quincy, MA headquarters. We require submissions of published writing samples and examples of unique content creation (whitepapers, case studies, blog posts, landing pages, etc). If you’re familiar with producing online content and have an eye for detail, we’d like to meet you.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Create and manage a monthly and quarterly content calendar
- Ensure all-around brand consistency (style, fonts, images and tone)
- Write clear marketing/creative copy to promote our products and services
- Conduct regular research on industry-related topics (combining online sources, interviews and studies)
- Create content to appeal to users across various stages of the buyer's journey
- Conduct keyword research to help optimize our campaigns and content
- Prepare well-structured, SEO-ready drafts using Content Management Systems and submit work to the Sr Director of Marketing for input and approval
- Identify opportunities for organic traffic growth across core website areas such as site infrastructure, keyword selection, on-page factors, and scalable content
- Provide content performance reporting (daily/weekly/ad hoc), communicate performance to leadership and use data to inform strategic decisions
- Support Search Engine Marketing initiatives of our paid advertising campaigns (PPC, retargeting, etc)
- Coordinate and promote content on social media
- Coordinate with marketing and design resources to produce content to support business development and private aviation consultants such as infographics, one-pagers, and sales collateral
- Help identify customers’ needs and gaps in our content and recommend new topics
- Regularly update website content
