Hawker 900XP

Capable of seating eight passengers, the Hawker 900XP’s spacious cabin ensures a comfortable flight from coast to coast with stand-up headroom. Hawker has re-used the successful design of the 850XP with material upgrades, but with the same dimensions—it measures 5.8 feet high, 6 feet wide, and 21.3 feet long for a total volume of 604 cubic feet. While there’s no external baggage compartment, travelers have 50 cubic feet of heated, pressurized internal storage for luggage that is accessible during flight. 

Typical cabin layout includes five swiveling, reclining, and fully berthable seats and a three-seat divan. Additional amenities include LCD lighting, touch-screen seat controls, and an entertainment system controllable via the Rockwell Collins Airshow 21 cabin management system. The cabin is complete with a fully enclosed lavatory and a forward galley with microwave and cold storage.  

Two Honeywell TFE731-50R engines were designed specifically for the Hawker 900XP, delivering 4,660 pounds of thrust each and using 229 gallons of fuel per hour. These engines, a significant upgrade over those of the 850XP, allow the aircraft its impressive range of 2,818 nautical miles when flying with four passengers and IFR fuel reserves—enough to make coast-to-coast trips or New York to London flights possible. With a 6,000-hour Time Before Overhaul, the engines are also less expensive to maintain.

These engines also give the aircraft seamless ability to increase climb performance and reach its maximum operating altitude of 41,000 feet in just 25 minutes, quicker than other jets in its category. Derived from those introduced on the 850XP, the winglets on the 900XP’s wings have been enhanced to increase cruise performance and range in hot-and-high conditions.

In the intuitive cockpit, pilots will enjoy the Collins Pro Line 21 avionics suite spread across four high-resolution, 8×10-inch Active Matrix Liquid Crystal Display screens. The screens provide tools for navigation, weather, terrain awareness warning systems, traffic alert and collision avoidance, and enhanced ground proximity warning systems, providing the Hawker 900XP’s pilots with necessary information in an organized fashion. A head-up guidance system also provides pilots with increased situational awareness.
