Additional Information
The Citation CJ2’s spacious, six-passenger cabin measures 13 feet 6 inches long, 4 feet 8 inch wide, and 4 feet 8 inches high for a total cabin volume of 246 cubic feet, offering 45 more cubic feet of space than the CJ1. Although the jet does not offer much internal baggage space, it provides a large exterior baggage compartment of 70 cubic feet.
The CJ2 features a four-place center club configuration with two seats located aft facing ahead. It also includes a fully enclosed bathroom with a belted flushing toilet. Additional amenities include indirect cabin lighting, a mirrored aft divider, and dual executive tables available for the convenience of the passenger.
The CJ2 is equipped with two Williams FJ44-2C engines, which enable the aircraft to reach speeds of up to 413 kts and produce 2,400 pounds of thrust per engine. That extra thrust translates to a greater payload and faster climbs. The CJ2 can cover up to 1,511 nautical miles with four passengers—meaning it can fly routes like Boston to Baton Rouge or New York to Chicago without any stops. The CJ2 is a fuel-efficient jet, burning an average of just 140 gallons per hour. According to Aero classified, The CJ2 can climb to 37,000 feet in just 17 minutes and fly at an increased high-speed cruise 407 mph.
The Cessna CJ2 utilizes the Collins Pro Line 21, an integrated avionics system designed to enhance a wide range of business, commercial, and even military aircraft. It provides large and clear displays with state-of-the-art functionality, which improves pilots’ situational awareness and flight capabilities. Although the updated CJ2+ has more advanced avionics and FADEC control, the CJ2 does not have much of a difference in the quality of flying and its avionics system in general.
