Additional Information
In comparison with the CJ3, the business jet’s interior is much larger, providing greater space to stretch your legs while you’re in the air. This premier business jet’s cabin accommodates 7 passengers comfortably and is larger than that of the CJ3, measuring 17.3 feet long (about 20 inches longer than that of its predecessor), 4.8 feet wide, and 4.8 feet high for a total of 311 cubic feet of volume. The amenities provided to passengers within the cabin include a Collins Venue entertainment management system, individual power outlets, fold out tables, and a fully enclosed lavatory.
LEDs and natural light from the jet’s 14 windows brighten the cabin for increased visibility and productivity. All passengers sit in leather reclining seats in a club four configuration, with two seats facing forward in the rear of the cabin. There are 65 cubic feet of exterior baggage storage area, which gives passengers ample room to store their belongings. Between the door and the flight deck is a well-designed refreshment center, with separate ice drawers, cup dispensers, trash containers, and areas for storing bottled water and cans.
The CJ4 improves upon the CJ3 with new engines and a redesigned wing. The jet is powered by two Williams International FJ44-4A Fadec engines, producing 3,400 lbs of thrust each. These powerful engines provide the aircraft to travel at a high-cruise speed of 522 mph and a range of 1,920 nautical miles. Its improved wing is slightly shorter than the CJ3’s, but lessens drag and holds a greater fuel capacity. The aircraft has a maximum certified ceiling of 45,000 feet, which allows it to avoid air traffic and poor weather conditions.
Another factor that sets this aircraft apart from the rest of the light-jet class is its short-range runway performance capabilities. The CJ4 can take off with 3,410 feet of runway, with a landing distance of 2,940 feet. Its elite runway performance capability allows it to land and take off from smaller airports, bringing passengers to a much wider variety of airports closer to their destinations.
The Citation CJ4 is equipped with the Collins Pro Line 21 avionics suite, featuring advanced flight displays, navigation systems, weather radar, and traffic awareness technology designed to improve pilot situational awareness and reduce workload.
Integrated flight management and communication systems support efficient routing and smooth operation across a wide range of flight conditions, helping deliver the reliable travel experience associated with the Citation family.
