FLYING TO THE MASTERS: EVERYTHING YOU NEED TO KNOW
WHEN DOES THE 2023 MASTERS TOURNAMENT TAKE PLACE?
This year, the Masters runs from Monday, April 3 to Sunday, April 9. April 3-5 are pre-tournament practice days, while the tournament’s four rounds will be held from April 6-9. Gates open at 8 a.m. each day except on Thursday when they open at 7:30; gates close 30 minutes after play each day.
WHERE TO FLY INTO FOR THE MASTERS
Here are the area FBOs commonly used during the week of the Masters. Keep in mind that with so much expected private jet traffic in and out of Augusta Regional Airport, it may be a better idea to fly into one of the three alternate airports. The FAA has issued special air traffic procedures from April 2-9 to manage the expected spike in air traffic at the following four airports:
Augusta Regional Airport at Bush Field (KAGS) — 21 minutes from Augusta National Golf Club
Aiken Municipal Airport (KAIK) — 30 minutes from Augusta National Golf Club
Daniel Field (KDNL) — 10 minutes from Augusta National Golf Club
Thompson-McDuffie County Airport (KHQU) — 33 minutes from Augusta National Golf Club
A bit further away, there is another option:
Barnwell Regional Airport (KBNL) — 58 minutes from Augusta National Golf Club
