Journey to Norway
THE NORWEGIAN COAST
Bergen to Oslo by Fjord and Rail
Four nights between two of Scandinavia’s most compelling cities, connected by the fjords that define Norway’s interior. Bergen’s painted waterfront gives way to rail journeys through glacier-carved valleys, private cruises beneath towering cliff walls, and village stops where the pace of life has barely changed in centuries.
The route ends in Oslo, where contemporary architecture, three-Michelin-starred dining, and a thriving arts scene bring the journey full circle. Boutique hotels, guided cultural experiences, and curated tastings are woven throughout.
Sample Itinerary
The following itinerary is a suggested experience and can be fully customized to suit your preferences.

FIRST EVENING IN BERGEN
Bryggen Wharf and
Mount Fløyen
A private transfer delivers you to the Opus XVI Hotel or Hotel Norge in Bergen’s historic center. From there, walk Bryggen Wharf, the UNESCO-listed row of colorful Hanseatic trading houses, and continue through the city’s fish market and artisan quarter with a private guide.
Later, ride the funicular to the top of Mount Fløyen for sunset views across the harbor and the surrounding peaks. The evening closes at Lysverket, a Michelin-starred restaurant where the tasting menu leans into modern Nordic seafood.
RAILWAYS AND FJORDS
Flåm and Nærøyfjord
The Bergen Railway carries you east through high plateaus and snow-dusted passes before the route narrows to the Flåm Railway, one of the world’s most celebrated rail descents, dropping through waterfalls and steep valley walls to the fjord floor. In Flåm, board a private cruise through Aurlandsfjord and the UNESCO-listed Nærøyfjord, where sheer granite faces rise straight from still water.
A stop in Undredal, a tiny goat-farming village accessible only by boat or a single-lane tunnel, brings a private cheese tasting. Your hotel tonight is Aurland 292, and dinner is a farm-to-table meal at Ægir BrewPub, set directly on the fjord.

STILL WATERS AND STEEP CLIFFS
Aurland and the Fjords
Morning brings a guided kayaking excursion or RIB safari across Nærøyfjord, with chances to spot seals, porpoises, or eagles along the cliffs. The afternoon takes you to the Stegastein Viewpoint, an architectural platform cantilevered over the fjord, with open views across Aurlandsfjord far below.
Back in the village, explore local artisan workshops or join a private photography session in the region’s long-angled light. Dinner is fireside: locally sourced trout, lamb, and Nordic wine pairings.

Scenic Train to the Capital
Depart Flåm by rail, retracing the route through Myrdal and continuing east toward Oslo through glacial river valleys, mountain plateaus, and a series of tunnels carved through solid rock. On arrival, check in to The Thief Hotel on Tjuvholmen.
A privately guided tour covers the Oslo Opera House, the MUNCH Museum, and the Aker Brygge waterfront. The farewell dinner is at Maaemo, Oslo’s three-Michelin-starred restaurant, where the kitchen applies an avant-garde approach to Nordic ingredients.

Final Morning in Oslo
