Macau’s top gambler, Stanley Ho, recently sent his private jet to Singapore to buy durian fruit. Durians are widely known and referred to as the “king of fruits” for their large size, unique odor, and formidable thorn-covered husk. The China Press reported that Mr. Ho sent his shopping representatives via private jet to buy the football-sized fruits which can’t be brought aboard airline flights. They purchased 88 durians, valued at 2,065 Singapore dollars (1,505 US dollars). Seems like Mr. Ho really enjoys his fruit and is even willing to take dramatic measures to acquire a favorite food.
